2. What do you have left to complete in order for your wall to be finished? We have to paint our wall and put the plywood on the wall.

3. Explain how well your group communicated/participated today. Be sure to include one specific example. We worked well when I nailed in the finial nail and we all started singing and skipping around.

Here’s a picture of someone in our group screwing in a stud.

Sukkah Day 10

1. What did your group accomplish today? We are accomplished almost finishing our wall and helping a few other groups.

2. What do you have left to complete in order for your wall to be finished? We only need 2 studs and one corner done.

3. What help do you need from me (Adon Kaufman) or your classmates? Be specific I don’t think we anything from Adon Kaufman because we are almost done.

Sukkah Day 9

1. Describe what skills (s) you have learned so far. Who taught you those skills? How did they teach you those skills? How have you mastered those skills? I Learned how to put in a carriage bolt, how to put in studs, and how to build a wall.

2. Explain if you believe your group is ahead or behind other groups. Explain why you believe you are at that point. I think we are ahead of the other groups because we have all of our studs done on one side and we are almost done with our 3rd corner.

3. How effectively did your group communicate and collaborate with each other? Provide one SPECIFIC example to support your point. I was effective when my partner bossed me around and I talked with him and made sure he didn’t do it again.

4. Today is a complete reset from last week. What is one goal YOU have for yourself? Explain why you picked that goal.  My goal is to make sure I am helping the group because sometimes I leave to do something.

5. What is one goal you have for YOUR team. Explain why you picked that goal. Our goal is to finish the sukkah and make sure we are all working on the sukkah.

1. Describe what skills (s) you have learned so far. Who taught you those skills? How did they teach you those skills? I learned that sometimes you have to be patient. I’m not very patient so I need to be more patient.

Picture with me hammering a nail into the stud. I was happy because I did it all by myself.

Sukkah Day 8- Problem Solving

1. What are the five steps to solving a problem (please list the steps)?

  1. Define the problem.
  2. Stay calm and remind yourself that you can work it out. Use calming strategies if you need them.
  3. Think of at least three ways to solve the problem.
  4. Discuss the solutions with your friends and agree on one.
  5. If the solution works, you are done. If, not try another idea.
  6. 2. Your group identified a problem you were experiencing. What was the problem? What were your solutions? We were not getting confirmation from all of our group mates to do changes on the Sukkah. Our solutions were to talk to each other before making changes, be on the same page, and to improvise with each other.

    3. Describe how it felt working with your group after you identified your problem and came up with solutions.  It feels good because were all on the same page so we can all work together.

where were you? was out side of school working on the studs. what were you doing? I was nailing a nail to keep the stud in place. what did you feel at that time? I was proud of myself because I nailed in a nail all by myself.

Sukkah Day 7

1. Provide a SPECIFIC example of when you or a member of your group struggled to communicate effectively, with empathy, or appropriately. Make sure to include:
a. What led to that situation of miscommunication
b. How you felt when the miscommunication happened
c. How that miscommunication should have been handled instead. My group didn’t have a hard time communicating because we made sure that we talked to each other if we were about to do something and we made sure we were all working together.

2. Explain how poor communication let your team down. Make sure to include:
a. What was your team goal
b. What did you achieve in comparison to your team goal. It didn’t let my team down because we worked well together and had good communication. We made sure we all helped the group in a way even if the thing was small thing.

3. Describe one positive example of communication you witnessed/did yesterday during class. Make sure to include:
a. What was the situation
b. How did it feel different
c. What the outcome of that communication was. I witnessed SE ,ES ,SM , and JW were working well together because they were all working together making sure that they all have a part to do and to work.

Picture of group drilling a holes so we can put in a carriage bolt in.

Sukkah Wall Construction (Day 6)

1. You spent time reflection on past blog posts (looking at your strengths and weaknesses). Describe the value, using a specific example from your blog post, of looking back and reflecting on our work

2. We started to build our walls. What would you have done differently during the process and WHY? Explain what you did and how your fix would have made it better. I should of talked with my group before we started everything because we didn’t really talk so I was kinda confused. I would fix this by talking to my group to make sure I understand everything and so we can communicate.

Egg Drop Challenge

Describe your prototype design.

Our prototype protects our egg because be have a box (made with a tissue box) and we have ear plugs in it with small blown up balloons and our egg is in 2 balloons that goes inside of the box and then we duck taped balloons on all sides so when it drops the balloons hit the ground first instead of the box with the egg.

How does your prototype protect the egg? It protects the egg by making sure the balloons hit the ground first (which have duck-tape around them so rocks don’t pop the balloons) and not the box with the egg in it.

Describe your design process, in detail.

  1. Looked at different websites to research and we talked about a plan.
  2. We drew a plan

    IMG-0866 (1)

What worked well in your design? Our design worked because the balloons around the box protects the egg inside.  My partner and I came up with a design that we agreed on.

What was challenging throughout this process? What would you do differently? What was challenging was that our groups balloons kept popping so we had to use a lot of balloons. I would make sure we blow up the balloons only when we need them so we don’t wast balloons.

7th One Pager Summer Reading Assessment

One choice I made on my project was to add quotes in the beginning, middle, and end to show different stages of Simon and how he changed through out the book because his personality changed  with his actions.

One choice I made on my project was to add pictures with quotes from Simon and Blue’s emails to each other. I chose to do this to show that there emails together were really strong and they had a strong connection through email and not person but in the end they meet together and there connection gets even stronger.

One choice I made on my project was to add a quote from Simon and add theme topics to that quote to show that Simon is strong and he’s not afraid to show and tell his opinion. I also did this to show a quote that is important and to give it theme topics is easy because it’s like one big giant theme topic to show how Simon feels and to express the way he think and feels.

I used color to express the different quotes in this book because there’s a lot of important quotes and a lot of important theme topics.

I choose the quote “Sometimes it seems like everyone knows who I am except me.” because it shows how Simon was confused about his life and his sexuality and because he’s expressing his feelings to Blue to show how he feels.

I choose the quote “I fall a little bit in love with everyone” to show that Simon respects everyone and to show that Simon it really falling in love at the end at the book.

Which learning goal did you do your best work on? Which one do you find challenging? I think I manage my time well excepted at the beginning because I didn’t understand so I wasn’t really working at the beginning. I think I had a hard time using textual evidence to support opinion because I have a hard time drawing because I like drawing but I’m bad at drawing things in detail.

Sukkah Purchasing Day

Here’s us picking out nails and screw           Here’s us buying everything

1. Describe a situation when you collaborated well with your group yesterday (make sure to set the scene: what were you doing, what happened, how did you feel). I collaborated well with my group when we were picking the wood we all helped each other with putting the wood on the cart. I felt good because we were working together.

2. Provide a specific example of a time when you did not collaborate well with your group yesterday (make sure to set the scene: what were you doing, what happened, how did you feel). When we were pick the spray paint because they wanted the more expensive paint and I wanted to cheaper. I felt annoyed because we ended up picking the more expensive because they were brighter colors.

3. For your specific example of your struggles, how would you change your behavior/actions next time so as to do better. Be specific on what you would do. I would of taken a breath instead of yelling at them because yelling doesn’t help the problem it makes it worse.

4. Explain how well you planned (what you need to buy and how much) and executed that plan (actually did what you said you were going to do).  We planed well by writing down home much of everything we need so right when we got there we could go into each section and get what we needed.

Include at least 2 photos from yesterday, with a description for each photo (ex: where were you, what were you doing, what did you feel at that time)
