8th – The Gathering

On Tuesday, our 8th grade students headed to The Gathering.  The Gathering serves a primarily homeless population within the Milwaukee community and it is our duty, as Jews, to help those less fortunate.  That being said, our students had a wonderful experience there, helping to serve over 100 people (and that is the highest number to date at that building).  We spent the morning cleaning and preparing the facility and food.  Then, we served breakfast, followed up with cleaning.  The students had a great experience and we encourage more to come and help out.

St. Ben’s Serving Dates

Hello all,
Every month, we go down to St. Ben’s Community Meal Program to help serve members of our community in need.  St. Ben’s serves a population of our city in need of help.  Approximately 80% of the people that attend the meal are working poor; people that have full-time jobs, but are just in a tight spot and need some assistance.  Approximately 20% of the people that attend the meal suffer from mental health issues while approximately 15% of people attending the meal are homeless.  Regardless of people’s situation, we treat everyone with respect and kindness as we do our part to make the world a better place.
Below are the dates we will be attending St. Ben’s during the remainder of 2019.  Parents, friends, and families are all welcome.  Additionally, if you have any pre-packaged food, extra un-used clothing, or clean plastic containers with lids, we will happily bring those down for the guests.
