Chicken Group Plan Reflection

  • How do you think your work so far has prepared you for this project? I think my work has prepared me for this project by making me know more info about chicken mummification.
  •
  • What has been most helpful to you in this process? I think the thing that has been most helpful for me is comparing my chicken plan and talking to my teacher about it.
  • How can Gev. Noorlander help you in the future work of this project? I think she can help me by checking that we understand what we are doing and why.
  • How do you think working with a group will be helpful to you? I think working in a group will be helpful because we will have more info so we can understand the chicken mummification better.
  • What do you feel most comfortable with this project? Why? I think the thing that I am most comfortable with is researching I think that because every time we researched I always did a really good time doing it.

Golf Ball Challenge

How did going through the same challenge twice change your planning? Then I had more background knowledge on the challenge.

How did the chance to try again make you feel? I think it made me feel good because now after the second try I could do the challenge and I got it!

How did the chance to try again help your team? Hurt your team? I think it helped my team because we all had really good ideas. I don’t think that it hurt my team by doing it again.

What have you learned about yourself as a team member? I think I have learned that I am a leader and good at making everyone’s voice is heard.

Would you like to try past challenges again? One word DEFINITELY I think that because if I tried all of the challenges again I think that I would have a lot more success in the challenges.

First Chicken Plan

How did your research guide your plan? My research guided my plan by showing me what to do. Then I won’t be guessing when we start mummifying the chickens.

What information do you still need to find? I still need to find how much pounds of salt you need to put in each step.

What new information did you find as you planned? I found in all you need two 25 pounds of salt.

How do you think this plan will work with your group members? Because we will all have similar plans so it will be easier to discuss about our plan.

How can you make sure every person’s voice is heard in the group? We can give each person in  our group roles while we are doing the steps.

Update on Math Tutorial

Last week, we had the chance to give each other feedback on our tutorials. Based on the feedback I got, if I were to do this tutorial again this is what I would do differently.  One I would explain what the least common multiple is and what 18/15th’s is as a mixed number and how I got the mixed number. Last what is a denominator.

So here is what the answer to those questions are. One A least common multiple is the least number that can be multiplied with your denominators.  18/15th’s as a mixed number is 1 3/15th’s. I got that by saying 18 goes into 15 one time so 1 then when I subtract 18-15 it equals 3 so three then the denominator always stays the same so 1 3/15th’s.

Adding fractions with unlike denominators

Last week we learned how to add fractions with unlike denominators. Me and ngoldenberg23’s question is 4/5 + 6/15.

First, you have to find the least common multiple. That will be your denominator for adding. Then you have to find the denominator. Our denominator is 15 because 3×5 is 15 and it is also the denominator of 6/15 which is one of our numbers. Finally, you add 6/15 + 12/15 which is 18/15 so that is your answer.

E.T.C Reflection

What growth have I seen in my self and in others.  For myself I have seen improvement for  really listening to others and their ideas. I also have seen in myself I have always had a growth mindset in our team challenges. A example for that is when we were doing the pringles challenge I never got any of my team mates down. For others I have seen people being kind to others. An example for when I have seen that was when one of my friends got down they said “Hey it’s okay it’s just for fun.

High Holiday Reflection

Why did I pick my topic forgiveness? I picked my topic because whenever I look at the Amidah  I always  think about forgiveness.

What was a main idea that I learned that I did not know before? I learned that Eva Kor forgave a Nazi, and that Nazi killed her sister.

What did I find interesting and enjoy about doing my project? I found that you can forgive someone anytime even if it is 20 years later or even more. I enjoyed researching and finding new things about my project.

How did doing my project enhance or influence my high holiday experience.  It helped because now every time we have Yom Kippur I know what it is really about.

Reflection Timeline

What did you think of your finished product? I thought that my timeline looked neat and clean.

How did this challenge you? It challenged me to think about my past and write about the year that they happened.

What was easy about this for you? Something easy was writing with pencil and color so we could just write.

What was fun or exciting about this project? Something exiting was putting down all the colors and pictures.

How can you use your timeline skills in the future? I think that I could use them in the future by using timelines but for historical timelines.

What are you most proud of from this process? I am most proud that I finished it in time and that it was neat and clean.

What would you change if you had to do it again? I would try to write bigger so that it is easier to read my timeline.

5th 6th Retreat

Something fun about our retreat was zip lining and the team building. My mindset changed because at first I was really scared then it got better, and it was more fun. Would I do it again?  YESSSSS. It was so so fun because in my opinion I love the feeling when you are flying through the air.  How can this experience connect to school and friendship? This connected to school because it helped about me to we and empathy. It helped my friendship because we cheered our friends on and I made a few new friends because we all cheered each other  on.

Then on the bus ride wasn’t the best but it was fun because I GOT TO SLEEP after I was tired after all of the zip lining.

Reflection Pringle Challenge.

What were your biggest takeaways (biggest ideas/thoughts) from these challenges? That you need to have teamwork or else it won’t work.

What was challenging about these challenges? Something challenging was making the pringles in the whole ring shape because all we had was the pringles and nothing to make them stick together.

What was comfortable about these challenges? Something comfortable about the challenge was making the bottom base of it because once you made that  the base it was pretty easy to keep stacking the pringles. But then at the top top it started to get harder to stack.

How did you work in a team? We worked in a team by 2 people were holding the pringles and one person is staking the pringles till it get’s to a ring shape. You want 2 people holding it because then it won’t fall down as quick.

What were your areas of strength as a group? Our strengths as a group were that we had really good teamwork and we were all positive and know one was negative.

What were your areas of growth as a group? A area of growth for my group would be having some backup plans if our first plan didn’t work.

What was frustrating? Why? Something that was frustrating was getting the top part of the ring to stay without the whole ring collapsing because the top didn’t have a base and if the top did have a base then the top would crumble and the  whole thing would collapse.
