Acrostic Poem

Caronavirus

Oh my gosh, it is hurting the world badly

Voice, we need someone to speak up and be a role model

I can’t believe it, we are in a state of emergency

Death, many people have died from this virus

1 person to step up is all we need

911 thank you

Sincerely,

msteigmann

Create/design a space in your home that feels special. It can be your personal “mishkan.” It shouldn’t just be your bed or bedroom. 🙂 You need to actually change a space in your house and put some work into making it feel different that usual. The mishkan had special objects – what will you bring into your special space?

In my comfortable place, I brought pillows, a blanket, and a stuffed animal. I chose that comfy chair because it is right near the TV where I watch Netflix so I thought that to make a comfy space, you need TV. I put the pillows around me so I felt safe and secure.

Megillah chapters 6 and 7

Chapter 6:

The king wanted to reward Mordecai for saving his life but Haman thought he was the one being rewarded so he said a outrages request then Haman had to lead Mordecai through the streets.

Chapter 7:

Esther wanted to save the Jews but she did not know how so when she had a banquet and told the king about Hamam’s evil plan. Then after the king stormed out, when he came back he thought Haman was going to hurt Queen Esther so he ordered to hang Haman right away.

Rube Reflection

What about this project went well for you?

Something that went well for me during this project was that I was able to be a leader in my group. I feel that was good because I was able to share and put my voice into this project.

What about this project went well for your group?

Something that went well during this project was that even after our group got of to a rocky start we finished strong and succeeded. That was good because we all showed signs of never giving up.

What would you change if you did the project again?

If we did this project again, I would change the time we have to do it because I feel all of us wanted to make our “dream Rube Goldberg” but we did not have the time to do it. Also I would have liked to have a voice in choosing our groups because I feel sometimes our group did not work together and we got mad at each other.

Purim SWBST

Esther found out about Haman’s decree to kill all the Jews. She wanted to hide her religion instead of confronting the king, but Mordecai said all the Jews would be killed if she didn’t so she said to  Mordecai tell every Jew to fast for 3 days and then she would confront the king and ask to have a banquet with Haman and the king. At that banquet she asked to have another banquet the next day.

Jewish Studies Reflection

Over the past week, I have been working on a final project for Jewish Studies. I have been writing a poem about god and making a drawing to go with it. This project has meant a lot to me because I got to learn and find out what God really means to me. This is my belief in God,

God cannot choose, nor back out.

God helps, on our paths of life.

God is a tree and helps us climb the branches.

That was part of my poem. I believe that God’s role on this earth is to lead people in the best paths. I feel like God has helped me in my life with being a better person. Whenever my brain is like “don’t do that”, that is what I believe God is. God is a voice or object that helps you be a better person. This class really has clarified my vision of God.

Tefillah Reflection

For a few months, I was in musical Tefillah. I learned the words keva (structure) and kavanah (meaning).  Gev.Honigman told us to write a song with keva and kavanah. My friend and I  (Simon) made a song using keva and kavanah. I learned how to make a song and how hard it is to make a meaningful prayer with structure. We made a new tune to the prayer redemption to the song Mr.Blue Sky by E.L.O. That was really fun!!

Food Web Reflection

  • What was your biggest takeaway from this food chain activity? That one animal dying effects a ton of animals.
  • How did this activity help you understand direct/indirect interactions and/or predator/prey relationships? This activity did not help me with this.
  • What are some things you are wondering after completing this activity? What if the top of the food chain dyed out, what would happen.
  • What happened after the yellow perch were eliminated from the food web? A lot of animals had one less thing to eat which would cause them to die out. Also if an animal had one less predator, there might be too much of that animal.

Before the Chicken

  • How do you think your work so far has prepared you for this project? I feel very prepared. Me and my group have worked together very well.
  • What has been most helpful to you in this process? Working with daniel because we know each other and work well together.
  • How can Gev. Noorlander help you in the future work of this project? When we are struggling, maybe Gev. Noorlander can come over to help.
  • How do you think working with a group will be helpful to you? We have more hands to help with the project.
  • What do you feel most comfortable with this project? Why? Doing the mummification because we have researched so much.

Sincerely, msteigmann
