In class we watched a video about the caste system in India. I strongly believe that this is a terrible way to treat people. The caste system is based on the idea that there are separate types of humans. There are 5 different types of castes. The highest of the caste is the Brahman. They get good jobs, good food and water. Then we get to the Kshatriya, Vaishya, Shukra and the lowest of the low is the Dalits. They live in poverty even below the poverty line. They get barely enough food or water. It is TERRIBLE!!!!!! People are living in poverty and the world doesn’t even notice. Why do people live in poverty? It is not their choice they live in poverty. A long time ago if you looked nice and had a lot of money their children’s children would always be Brahman. If you were poor their children’s childrens would be poor and you couldn’t change that. They live in huts not even huts. They do dirty  jobs like taking out the garbage and cleaning the toilets. I think we should STOP this evil deed that the people in India are making. I say the caste system is mean and terrible.    

In class we did an activity that we got a person and we would decide if we would march in Washington on August 28, 1963. My persons role: I am a elderly African American grandparent. My family works on a farm in Illinois, where I’m not getting rich but I’m not going hungry. Coming to Washington can be difficult and expensive.  I would not march in Washington but I would march in Illinois and convince people to march with me. If I couldn’t march I would try to support in other ways.

What topic do you find most interesting? Why?

I think the most interesting topic is food I want to study the food that they eat there and how it is different from the USA.

What info do you know about this topic?

I know that is India they eat curry with tomatoes and potatoes. They love beans and rice. Most people there are vegetarians because the cow is sacred to them.

My Favorite Hanukkah activity is Hanukkah rotations at school. I loved doing the gimmelest because there so much action and everyone is cheering. I love biting into the gooey sufganiyot and tasting the jelly inside. I love Hanukkah at MJDS.  

In math we are working on making a fast food restaurant. We are using area and perimeter. Are restaurant is named El Amaricano. We have made tables and chairs using area and perimeter. It’s going well because we are working together. I’m happy with my group and I like this project.

What are you feeling good about? 

I am feeling good about math and multiplying 3 by 1 digit numbers. I like using the array method because I think it is quick and easy. 

How are you showing a growth mindset in school? 

I’m showing a growth mindset at school by not saying this is stupid. I’m also showing a growth mindset at school because I’m not giving up and I’m always trying.

Today we  went on a field  trip to Urban Ecology . We met with another school. The first thing we did was we played a game that we learned each others names and learned what they like.I met a girl named Dakota I told her that I was studying North Dakota. Then we split in to groups some twos and ones. I was in the twos the first game we played was lacrosse. You have a net and you have to catch a ball you have to pass to other people on are team. Then you have to get it in a goal. Then we mulched the ground the wheelbarrows were heavy. After we went back we had a snack. I like working together because we get to learn about people and work together. 

Why do I like school? I like school because it’s entertaining and fun. My favorite subject is 1. Social Studies

I love all my teachers I’ve had so far everyone is different and I have more years to come. More MJDS for learning. More happiness. I love MJDS and I bet you do too.  I can’t wait for years to come.

Cute, adorable, fluffy, and kind dogs are awesome. Tons of people like dogs. I love dogs so much. The reason I’m writing this is I used to have a dog I loved her  so much. She passed away when I was in 1st or 2nd grade. My dog was a bichon (bi-ch-on) frise named Luba. I wish I had another dog sometimes I go on to google and I search where I can get dogs such as bichons. I love all dogs small big hairless furry.

I went on a 1 month trip to Europe this summer with my family. We went to 9 countries. Berlin, Prague, Vienna, Budapest, Copenhagen and then we got on our cruise. We took the Norwegian cruise line to Finland, Visibly, Sweden and more. It was a very fun trip I hope I go back to those places again.
