reflection-tifla

we learned about keva and kavana and I think that it had nothing to do with music.

also, we sang prayers in the Amida and with music tunes. that was the only fun thing for me.

I did not like learning a new prayer.

  1. Well, at least you are honest! I’m glad you enjoyed the musical aspect of prayers, but don’t you think that whether or not your are saying the prayers or feeling the prayers, it is like playing music? I know when you play something on your viola, you feel things… like a fast, lively piece like the Bohm is going to feel different that Nina… Just like music… how it sounds, the notes the composer used, the key (minor or major), the tempo, etc… all of those things that help give music a feeling, can be said about prayer. The tunes we apply to the words, tempo, the key… all of those aspects of music contribute to how we feel when we are praying. Think about it and let me know!
