We used our minds and our hands today! First we made challah together. Before we did the activity, we discussed how making challah was a fun component of being Jewish and might even be an answer to our driving question for the capstone project, “Who am I in the world asĀ Jew, a citizen and a learner?”
Then, we used our minds to connect all of the issues we have been discussing in class: identity, groups, responsibility, stereotypes, discrimination and racism (and more). Students were asked to synthesize information by making a concept map. This is a difficult skill, which helps me assess how students are understanding new concepts and how they relate to one another. Enjoy the pictures below and Shabbat Shalom!
