Golf Ball Challenge

First Attempt: Our first attempt was a fail because our design and our replica of it was very sloppy so when we tried to drop the ball on it broke because it wasn’t built right. To be honest I feel like I didn’t help my group so much the first time and that was what I tried to work on the second time.

Second Attempt: Our second attempt was much better and it was more clean and neat. In our building stage, I feel like I helped way more than for the first time even I maybe took over a little. Even though we failed again I enjoyed the second attempt way more.

Chicken Plan

How did your research guide your plan? My research guided me by helping me understand what was needed in order to be able to mummify a chicken and what materials were needed in order to do that.

What new information did you find as you planned? I found that in most cases you need 8 pounds of salt and I added 2 more pounds just to be safe and I also learned that the process will take a little over 2 months.

How do you think this plan will work with your group members? I think my plan will work with my group members because I used very basic stuff and adding more unique aspects too.

My Teamwork Improvement

Since the beginning of our ETC unit, I have grown so much. At the beginning of the year, I used to wander off to different groups and not focus on my group but now I can stay with my group. I can do that because I can realize when my teammates need help and I can help them because I don’t wander off. I don’t wander off because I am more focused and interested in the challenge.

High Holiday Reflection

1. Why did I pick my topic? I picked my topic because I like the feeling when I am forgiven and when I forgive people.
2. What was the main idea that I learned that I did not know before? My main topic was what is the meaning of forgiveness and I learned that there are so many things that fit the topic
3. What did I find interesting and enjoy doing my project? I found interesting that supposedly if you ask for forgiveness 3 times and the person doesn’t forgive you your sin or sins go onto them. But in some cases, if someone really hurts you I feel like you don’t have to forgive them and God would understand.
4. How did doing my project enhance or influence my high holiday experience? When I went to services I listened to the stories about forgiveness and I knew I related to them

Timeline Reflection

What did you think of your finished product?

I think my finished product looks great and I am really proud of it.

How did this challenge you?

This project challenged me because there was one picture that I could get onto my Chromebook and that annoyed me.

What was fun or exciting about this project?

I thought that to be able to personalize our work is really fun

What are you most proud of from this process?

I am most proud of my finished product and that I finished it in two days.

What would you change if you had to do it again?

If I had to do it again I would try to add more pictures and dates

Fish Dissection

During the past two weeks in science, we dissected a Perch and a Sea Lamprey.

The Perch was smaller than the Sea Lamprey and looked more like a normal fish that you would see in a lake. The Sea Lamprey looked like an eel and was long unlike the Perch. I noticed that when I opened up the Perch it didn’t smell as bad as the Sea Lamprey and it was more “organized” it also had a heart. On the other hand, the Sea Lamprey smelled awful and I was disgusted also the Sea Lamprey was all over the place it was a mess and it didn’t have a heart.Displaying Sep 27, 2019 at 8:00 AM.HEICDisplaying Sep 27, 2019 at 7:56 AM.JPG

ETC

This week in ETC we did two challenges. Our first challenge was the make it move challenge in that challenge we had to use certain materials like a balloon, magnets, straws, tape (etc) but the catch was that we couldn’t touch anything to make it move down the track. It was very difficult and in the end, my group didn’t finish the challenge but we had a lot of fun doing it. Our second challenge was the pringle challenge our challenge was to make a ring out of pringles that was free-standing. In the end, again my group didn’t finish the challenge. I think that for future challenges they should make it a little easier.

Saving Fred Challenge

For Saving Fred I was excited to try and use our ideas to save him, and I was excited to work with my teammates because I thought that we would work well together. I think that my group could have worked on staying on task and not goofing off, but I do think it was a lot more fun that way. I also think that my group did very well in working together and that made it very easy to complete the challenges. For example, when we had to put Fred into the lifesaver we worked together to make sure that the lifesaver was stretched enough so that Fred could fit in. We stretched it by using the paperclips and pulling it enough that Fred could fit in but not ripping it.

High Holiday Project Brainstorm

What do I know about my topic? Describe all the details, information, ideas that you do know.
I know that forgiveness is a very easy and difficult thing to do depending on who you are
What are 10 other questions I have that I need to research for a further study?
Why do people forgive, Why is it so hard for people to forgive, Why is so easy to forgive, why is it important to forgive, Why does forgiveness matter, What about forgiveness is meaningful, What is forgiveness, How do people forgive, What are different ways to forgive, What is forgivable, Who in Judaism has been forgiven + Who in Judaism has forgiven.

Where will I begin to look for those answers?
I will look at the internet, books, and people around me.
What help do I need to move forward in my project? I need my teacher’s help to push me in the right direction, same as other people
