What is an area of STRENGTH YOU HAVE as it relates to this project? Provide an example and answer in at least THREE complete sentences.
One strength that i have that relates to the project is when we were putting up the siding it was easy for me to line up the boards in order so that they all fit.It was easier for me because i am a bit of a perfectionist so i had to line up perfectly or else it made me feel uncomfortable. And when the boards did not line up i was able to figure out different ways for the boards to fit in.
What is an area of WEAKNESS YOU HAVE as it relates to this project? Provide an example and answer in at least THREE complete sentences. One weakness that i learned about is my inability to work with a group. Because i am ether working to fast or not fast enough. So i will try to work with groups and start to work on my work pace.
Provide an example of how you utilized our core value of WONDER. Provide an example and answer in at least THREE complete sentences. We utilized the core value of wonder when we didn’t have enough of the right size wood for the studs. We had to wonder about how to solve this problem. We talked it out and decided to make the dimensions smaller rather than have a crooked sukkah.
Provide an example of how you utilized our core value of EMPATHY. Provide an example and answer in at least THREE complete sentences. I utilized the core value of empathy when I thought another student wanted to use the drill. I stopped using it and let them use the drill. That student finished the drilling job.
Provide an example of how you utilized our core value of TIKKUN OLAM. Provide an example and answer in at least THREE complete sentences. One way was to shop the ReStore and use some of the boards at ReStore for studs.Another way was we used recycled bottles for the roof of the sukkah. We also used recycled barn wood and plywood for two of the sukkah walls.
What is one thing you are MOST PROUD of as it relates to this project? Provide an example and answer in at least THREE complete sentences.
One thing I felt most proud of was when we got all the walls up. Everyone felt very proud of how well we did. This was special because we didn’t know if we were going to finish the sukkah and this showed us we would finish it.
For me biggest accomplishment so far in the Sukkah process is when we got the First wall up it was very cool to see how the Sukkah was coming together. Another thing was when free finished putting the siding on one of the walls started to finally come together and look more like a shelter and not just like three walls. When we started the Sukkah one of the big accomplishments as when we finished one of the walls and now we have all of the walls up and we did it in like 3 weeks which a big accomplishment.
One piece of advice that I give is that you have to think a lot about measurements and remembering how to do stuff and listening. and you really have to work a lot with your team cuz if you don’t end up working as a team stuff starts to fall apart and get an organized. Another thing is that organization and putting away is a big part cuz if you’re organized you won’t be able to find stuff and that can in turn slow down the process.

The only problem that my group had was on one of the days we had trouble with the amount of people working on one part of the walls. We also had problems with the frame because the frame was crooked
The solution was to split up the and work on different projects to manage the amount of people working on one project. So an example is that two of us went to work on building the frame of the window and two were working on the walls.
One thing that i learned about myself is that i can be a little bit bossy when i feel over wellmed. And that i can get lazy when working with groups of people.I get lazy working in groups because i rely on other people to do the work. One thing i learned that i had never done before was make the walls and using the big saw.One thing i can do to fix the bossines is to try and calm down and try to think instead of
The piece of equipment was the miter saw and the pilot driver. The first time i used the big saw i was afraid of cutting of my hand. But after using the saw i learned how not to cut my hand of.
If we could redo the entire process I would try to focus more on one project then on everybody else’s projects. One thing I would do differently is to write down a list for the items we needed because we have a lot of supplies that we meant to buy that we either forgot or couldn’t find. So next time I would say write down a list for the supplies.
A change we had to make original design was with the length of the walls we realized that most of the wood that we had was too short so we ended up having to use 7 foot board instead of 8 foot long boards. We had the problem with the sizes because when we were at homedepot we grabbed 8 foot and 7 foot boards on accident
My favorite moment of the entire process so far when we went to Home Depot because it was a fun field trip to do at the beginning of the school year to find up ease in to the school year and it was also fun looking around Restore for the materials we need for our projects.
This is a cool photo for me because the window is like a big part of what makes the sukkah special. Also because favorite moment so far was going to restore and picking out materials. another reason is so that it reminds me of how fun it was to pick up the materials and have to measure them to see if they were correct because they did not have any labels on them.
Habitat for Humanity’s mission is to bring descent place to live for all the people in the world.
Habitat for Humanity’s mission is so important because in Milwaukee homes can be expensive to construct
Buying items used makes it so that more of the item don’t have to be made. Making more of any item can make more pollution. Plus sometimes you can get things at a lower price when you buy it second hand.
At ReStore there was a lot of broken/beat up items. But from what I saw the volunteers were very kind and ready to help. It was very fun to look at the stuff we needed because we had to measure the wood and window before we could buy anything.
At restore we found a red heart bathtub that was very funny to find because it was just sitting there among pieces of wood. Unfortunately I do not have any pictures of the bathtub.
Enjoy feeling able to tell people that I helped build a sukkah in front of the school. when we were purchasing/looking for the materials it was cool to have a say in what we purchased .
One part of the trip that was important to me was when we were all reporting to each other what we had found and what we could do with the item and then helping other teams. because it made it feel like we were all working together in one team to get one goal.
One part of the trip yesterday that I would change if we could do it over again is when we could have maybe work together as a team better but didn’t he could have changed that made stuff go faster and easier.
They have owned the project bye helping my Team kick out and think of ways to use the materials we got.
When we were picking out materials as a group we had told wonder how we could use the materials and we had to use empathy to ask ourselves what we would do if we had to use the materials. and by using reused wood we were making it so more trees didn’t have to get cut down to get the wood floor.
I feel like this photo is a representation of how we all work together and have fun when we work together.
