Kadoorie School and Host Families

This trip, our 2019 MJDS class was paired together with students our age in Milwaukee’s partnership region,  Sovev Kineret. It was definitely my favorite part yet. On Sunday night, we met our new best friends, mine was named Omer. We did a little activity together and then had a pizza dinner where we learned about each other. The next day, we picked them up from their school, the Kadurie School, and left for a nearby hike at a nature reserve. The hike was spectacular! There were huge rocks, rolling hills lush with fauna, and weird animals. We hiked down to a spring where we swam around for a while. It was great playing with our friends. After our hike, we drove to another spring where we learned about a fallen IDF solider in our partnership region, named Nadav Raymond. It was very impactful learning about him because he was such a great person. After that, I was picked up by Omer’s father and we drove to his house in a village called Ilaniya. He invited some friends to hang out and we jumped on the trampoline and played board games. It was a blast! Afterwards, we traveled to a different host house for a whole class party. It was great because I really got to meet all the other hosts. They were some of the nicest people I’ve met in my life. The next day, we drove to their school, the Kadurie School. Since it is an agricultural school we got do do many farm related activities. We milked cows and goats, drove around in tractors, and played with small animals. I was so sad when we had to leave our hosts afterwards. It was the best part of the trip by far and I don’t think I’ll forget this for a very long time. -Noah B
