Ethiopian Experience

Two days ago, we wet to the Otzen Center in the Ethiopian village to learn and experience things from their culture. Pinni, a young Ethiopian Jew, told us his family’s story and his own. Along with talking about his story and culture, we also had related interests: We talked about sports, the Bucks, and even our hometown.

After talking, we got to experience Ethiopian dancing and wear their traditional garments. To finish our culture filled day, we got to try fresh and amazing food that was definitely out of some of our comfort zones. I got a lot of information out of this day, but most importantly, I realized that people from your same religion can still have several different cultures and traditions.
