Ester Chapter 6 and 7

The king wanted to give thanks to the Mordecai because he helped him not get killed. But Haman thought he was talking about him so he told him to give him the king’s horse and go around town being thanked. So Haman helped move the horse even though he hated Mordecai. Then Ester told the king about what Haman was planning to do, and the King hung Haman where they were going to hang Mordecai.

Rube Goldberg Reflection

What about this project went well for you?

My group was very nice. I knew them all so well that we worked so good together. We all did the work that we were good at.

What about this project went well for your group? Because we already knew each other well, it was very easy to work together. Also, one of the kids in my group knew how to do all of the woodworking things so that went very well.

What would you change if you did the project again?

If I did this project again, I would have liked to have more time so that we could have improved the things that wouldn’t work. I think I would also have liked to try it with people who I don’t hang out with a lot because that would be a fun challenge.

Purim SWBST- Chap. 4-5

Haman wanted to kill all the Jews on the 13th of Adar. But, Mordecai told Queen Ester and she told them to tear their clothes and fast for 3 days. So Mordecai convinced Queen Ester to tell the King that she would have a feast with him and Haman. Then Haman went home and his wife and friends told him the next day, he should tell the king to hang Mordecai on a 50 cubits high stake.

Dissecting Fish Reflection

  • What did you learn about the perch? The perch were very small but they had a lot more parts in their body than the sea lamprey. The perch had very rough skin and the color was a grayish color. They also had hearts that were the size of a pea and a greenish-grayish color. The perches insides were spread all over the place. The perches had big eyes and were very easy to see compared to the sea lamprey.
  • What did you learn about the sea lamprey? The sea lamprey were very weird. They were a light gray color and were very slimy. I noticed that they didn’t have hearts. They also had some very sharp teeth that were a bright red color. I also noticed that they didn’t have any eyes which made me wonder how they see or if they even need to see anything because they go onto to the fish and suck their blood to get food. The insides were also stuck together and way closer than the perch.

Experiential Exodus Reflection

I learned a lot of new things about the exodus. I didn’t know that there are so many more characters other than Moses and Pharoh. Prep was very rushed because we didn’t have a lot of time to prep so it was very hard to do. Because I was gone for the Experiential Exodus I couldn’t do any of it. Even though I wasn’t there, I have heard that it was fun even though we messed up a few times.

Timeline Blog

How did the events we looked at today lead to the cause of the Civil War? Some of them where like Norh trying to steal weapons of South, so they could be getting angry from those attack’s.

How did this activity show us the lead up to the Civil War? It showed us how the Civil War started and the Prequel of the Civil War.

What did you find most valuable about this activity? It was cool to learn more facts about before the Civil War.

Why is it important to learn about the events that lead to the Civil War? Because, all this stuff leads to the Civil War so we need to know what happens before the Civil War.

Why do you think your event lead to the Civil War? In ours a guy was stealing south guns and other weapons and tried to get them to the north, but the south captured him.

Cornell Notes Reflection

Did you use the websites provided to you for this activity? Did they help? Explain. I did use the websites. I was in a group so I didn’t use all of them and sometimes we just searched them.

How do you think you can use your Cornell notes in the future? If I ever need to know about something, I can use these. Also, I just have a small description so it is easy.

What are 3 new things you learned from researching the colonies in this way?

  1. I learned what colonies settled by the French and British
  2. I learned that there are a lot of fancy words I learned like Puritans
  3. I also learned what an Indentured Servent is

Why did we do this activity?

To give us some notes about the colonies without you guys having to teach us. And now all we need is those notes and we don’t need to search a lot about these things.

How did you research for this activity?

I used the sites in google classroom. And I used google.

What were the biggest challenges you encountered during this activity?

I could not find Colonies settled by the French and the British. And all the fancy words.

How did you overcome your challenges?

I asked mnoorlander for help. Or I used google.

Predicting the size of a result

  1. Here is the word problem my partner and I solved: An apple orchard covers 12 acres. There is a watering spout for every ¼ acre. Are there more or fewer than 12 watering spouts? How do you know? How many watering spouts are there in the orchard?
  2. Here is a picture of my visual that represents the problem:
  3. Here is my equation(s) with a variable to represent the unknown amount:12 / 1/4
  4. When predicting my answer, I know my answer will be smaller or larger because it’s bigger because it equals 48.
  5. Here is a picture of the work I did to solve the problem:
  6. My answer and label are 48 watering sprouts.

Chanukah Card Activity

This week, we worked on coding Chanukah Cards. Below you will see my creation and what I thought was comfortable and challenging when doing this assignment.

Here is my card: https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/268494813/#editor

What I thought was comfortable about this activity: I have been doing scratch my whole life so I know how to do everything.

What I thought was not challenging about this activity was everything.
