Cornell Notes Reflection

Did you use the websites provided to you for this activity? Did they help? Explain. I did use the websites. I was in a group so I didn’t use all of them and sometimes we just searched them.

How do you think you can use your Cornell notes in the future? If I ever need to know about something, I can use these. Also, I just have a small description so it is easy.

What are 3 new things you learned from researching the colonies in this way?

  1. I learned what colonies settled by the French and British
  2. I learned that there are a lot of fancy words I learned like Puritans
  3. I also learned what an Indentured Servent is

Why did we do this activity?

To give us some notes about the colonies without you guys having to teach us. And now all we need is those notes and we don’t need to search a lot about these things.

How did you research for this activity?

I used the sites in google classroom. And I used google.

What were the biggest challenges you encountered during this activity?

I could not find Colonies settled by the French and the British. And all the fancy words.

How did you overcome your challenges?

I asked mnoorlander for help. Or I used google.

Testing our Rapunzel Creations

What materials did you choose for your build and why? Clay, water and cardboard. They were the easiest materials to use that we could find.

Here is a picture of my plan: I can’t.

Here is a picture of my first attempt at the building process: I can’t show you.

While you test:

What are you noticing? If she will survive and be free from the tower! And will not drown!

What things are working? Everything that was supposed to work. (Rapunzel leaving the tower living and the tower not falling apart.)

What things are not working? Nothing, everything is working and nothing is falling  except for Rapunzel.

How will you tweak this? Make this better? (Be specific and detailed!)

We are going to make a zip line to the water so that she can land safely and leave the tower.

Do you need any new materials? If so, WHY? We need a string to make the zip line, a person in my group knows how to make it because he is the master of ziplines!

Sketch your new design with labels on a piece of paper. Make sure your drawing is detailed and specifically labeled I can’t show you.

Why will this new design work better than your first attempt? What is your evidence? It is more realistic and we planned it out more than we did with the old version. And we are making her be more sturdy and make her stand up.

Predicting the size of a result

  1. Here is the word problem my partner and I solved: An apple orchard covers 12 acres. There is a watering spout for every ¼ acre. Are there more or fewer than 12 watering spouts? How do you know? How many watering spouts are there in the orchard?
  2. Here is a picture of my visual that represents the problem:
  3. Here is my equation(s) with a variable to represent the unknown amount:12 / 1/4
  4. When predicting my answer, I know my answer will be smaller or larger because it’s bigger because it equals 48.
  5. Here is a picture of the work I did to solve the problem:
  6. My answer and label are 48 watering sprouts.
