Egyptian Gods

What is the largest difference between Ancient Egyptian religious beliefs and our beliefs as Jews?

I think the largest difference is that we only believe in one God but the Egyptians believe in many. I think that another big difference is that our one God does everything but the Egyptians many Gods Do a whole bunch of things and they are all the protector or God of something EX: Anubis, the Jackal headed man is the God of Embalming and Mummification processes.

Which G-D did you find most fascinating?

I think the most fascinating one was: “Anubis”. I think Anubis was the most Fascinating because he is the one who watches over the dead, helps mummify someone, guide people through the afterlife and so many more! Anubis is really cool because of those reasons but he’s also really cool because he’s basically a normal human but with a Jackal head! Anubis is Fascinating!

What is one thing you are wondering about Ancient Egyptian religion?

One thing I’m now wondering is: Was there a God who controlled the weather because I know that Egypt is in the desert but Egypt could have possibly had weather and so, did the Egyptians believe in a God who controlled the weather? If so, Who?

My One Word Goal: Best

One thing I can do this week to help me stick to my goal: Always give my best and take my time and look back over my tests or work to make sure I didn’t make any mistakes.

One thing my teachers can do this week to help me stick to my goal: The teachers can help remind me to look back over my work and give it my best so that I can get a better grade.

One thing my friends can do this week to help me stick to my goal: Nothing really because this goal is a very independent goal.

One thing my family at home can do this week to help me stick to my goal: My Mom or Dad can check over my homework and make sure that it is correct so that I can go to school the next day and feel good about handing in my homework.

Which of the 10 exhibits we visited was your favorite? why?

I think my favorite exhibit was the streets of old Milwaukee because it was so realistic and I really liked how they really made it seem as though you were walking in Milwaukee on a normal night and it was so pretty because of the lights that lit up the city and I loved the trolley and the movie theater because they both were also very realistic and fascinating.

What is one new thing you learned at the Museum yesterday?

Honestly I learned a lot, and when I say a lot I mean: A LOT. I learned a lot about what our city used to be like, what cool minerals we have on earth and many many more.

Which exhibit do you think you will highlight in your poem? why?

I think the highlight of my poem will be “The Streets Of Old Milwaukee”. I choose this exhibit because I just found it fascinating what our city used to be like and I think that with the beautiful color of the city lights and buildings I think it is bound to be a good poem maker.

Why do you think learning coding is important to your future?

https://code.org/quotes

I think that this article is very true because these are all very important computer people in the world and they all say that coding is very important for our future and will create a bright future.

Wonders

I wonder how complex the people like microsoft and sony and all those companys have to code for their systems and consoles?

I wonder how those companys would even understand that “language” of coding?

Connections

I think that I connected with the fact that everyone thought coding would be helpful for kids who want to work for companys like microsoft.

What more whould you like to do with coding?

So there is this cool gaming platform called game maker. Game maker is like the more complex version of scratch, but some of my friends say it’s a lot easier. I do know that most of the hit computer games that go on steam (a gaming platform) are made with this software. But I was thinking maybe we could allow that to happen in this school. I think it’s a really cool software and I would really like to try coding like the pros. Thanks for reading this long paragraph!

Planning

We started by grabbing some scratch paper and messing around with our ideas. First I came up with two giant squares and put the heavy thing in the middle. Then EKing came up with “A weird plan that didn’t make sense” Then once again I came up with another idea but we would fold papers a lot and tape and attach them into a table like thing. In this process OGoldenberg was staying off task and was coming up with things that were pretty annoying about kylo ren who is from starwars.

Here are some pictures of the plans

Midway Reflection

so far this tower is very very unstable. It’s starting to lean so it will probably fall right off the table. But I think maybe just maybe if it happens to be maybe we can have hope that whatever the thing is maybe it will stand on the tower.

Prey and Predator Bloxel game – Cuphead Vs. Goopy Le Grande

Prior Knowledge

Ygaines and I both decided to group up for a bloxels video game. I started playing bloxels last year in 2017 and I haven’t played a lot since then. Ygaines and I started messing around with the blocks and came up with the idea of having a cuphead game. We got our blocks and then I started to work but stopped instantly so we could think about the project more. At first we thought, Grim matchstick (a dragon) would be our predator but the we thought something easier and went for Goopy (a slime).

Planning

Ygaines and I got our blocks and started planning. I made the cuphead head and ygaines helped me to see how it looked. We both took time to think about which boss we should do and came up with goopy le grand.

Question:

How did ancient Egyptians become educated? How did they learn how to write hieroglyphs?

Google Operators:  “How did ancient Egyptians become educated”

Evidence/Source:

Only boys would get to go to school, and they had to be seven before they went! There were very little exceptions to having a girl go to school.

*Explain the trend of increases and/or decreases for both the rabbit and wolf populations between the years 1930-1950

The rabbit constantly went up really high and then went down really low it was like a really crazy roller coaster! The wolf did the same just didn’t go nearly as high.

*Look at the years 1987 and 1993. Explain your thinking as to why there is such a large difference in population numbers between those five years.

I think it is because people started to go hunting back then so people would kill a lot of animals.

*Analyze the population changes between 2000-2005.

It went really high and then really low.

Step 2: We emptied out the tinfoil tray that the chicken was in and we put the mixture from before in the garbage and washed out the tinfoil tray with water and used 2 wipes to disinfect it.

Step 3: We then Mixed some salt and baking soda and also the scent Sage and ground nutmeg for a better scent and then we put the mixture together. We used about 3 pounds of salt and 3 pounds of baking soda to fill up the inside and outside of the chicken. We used about 1 tablespoon of sage and about 1 tablespoon of ground nutmeg to make the chicken from the inside and out not smell so bad as it would have with no scents.

Step 4: After that we buried the Chicken in the mixture in a CLEAN tinfoil tray so that the chicken could mummify some more.

Step 5:  We Put the chicken back on the windowsill so that it could get smaller and mummify even more than from before and dry out and dehydrate.

Photos of Us Mummifying a chicken:

Group Reflection:

Sight:It looks like its green purple and black and it looks like it has gills on the bottom. It also looks like it has a black and blue mark.

Touch:It feels like a DEAD raisin and it also feels like a rock depending on where you touch the chicken.

Smell:Before we put the scents on the chicken to make it smell better it smelled like a dead animal that’s been sitting for a year.
