My reading goal is to write many summary’s. I will achieve my goal in my class room. I am reading harry potter. My goal helped me a lot for reading. My goal helped because now I can remember the book easier.

Here is one of my summaries:

Harry potter thinks that Snape (a teacher) is trying to get the sorcerer stone. It is guarded by Fluffy (a three head dog).  Other things like spells we don’t now about are also guarding it. Harry,Ron, and Hermoine are the only students who now how to get past Fluffy. Harry saw Voldemort.

Next time I will give myself less time to achieve my goal and more to do.  My new goal is going to be making inferences.  I will keep track of this in my reader’s binder.

At  R.D.C. we learned how to be not as competitive. We did some games and most of us were competitive. After each game we got less and less competitive. We got less competitive because after each activity we had a discussion about how we could improve. One game we did was a puzzle game. The teachers split us into 4 groups we each had a bunch of puzzle pieces. After 3 minutes we had a ” board meeting” .  It’s where each team brings 3 pieces into the middle of the room and traded. Only two teams completed the puzzles, but we were supposed to complete all four.  We were not able to complete all four because the groups were too competitive.   I learned that being competitive isn’t always necessary and that showing empathy is more important.

Me and Cgaines23 are making a garden project. We are planting sunflowers, strawberry’s, and green beans. Were are also making a bench for the plants. Most of the seeds for the plants are coming from my farm. We are growing the plants in our classroom. To make the bench we found a video on YouTube. We then wrote down measurements on a google doc.  We drew a quick sketch of what we want the bench to look like. The plants will grow in the winter inside.

My goal is writing more summaries in my readers binder. l will know that I have reached this goal when I have 8 summary’s in my readers binder. I need to read and write more to reach my goal. I know I can reach this goal because I’ve written summaries and get time in class to read.  I think this will take at least two weeks based on the amount of independent reading time we get.
