About Me

Hi 5th and 6th grade families,

My name is Cylie McAdams and I am so excited to begin teaching here at MJDS. Ever since middle school I knew I wanted to become a teacher. In high school, I was lucky enough to have the opportunity to go back to my middle school to tutor students who were struggling in math. I loved seeing how differently each student thought about the different math concepts they were studying and how much I was able to learn from them. Their hilarious, silly personalities were infectious and I always looked forward to coming back each day. Needless to say, tutoring made me realize that teaching was the right profession for me.

After high school, I attended UW-Madison (go Badgers!) where I studied elementary education, ate tons of Babcock ice cream, went to many Badger games, and attended as many farmer market Saturday’s as I could.

After graduating, I taught 5th grade for a year before getting hired at MJDS. The moment I walked into the school, I knew it was for me. The staff, the students and their families, and the school culture and community were all so welcoming and inviting.

I feel so lucky to be a part of such a great place.

In my free time I love to spend time with my family, friends, and my new puppy Moose. I am also an avid baker, shopper, and rollerblader 🙂
