Sukkah day 12

In this photo, we are measuring and marking our studs so we can go and cut it. We worked better today than other days.

AK is putting in the nails for stud number 1. We worked really well and got 4 studs done and put in our frame.

we are inserting the studs.

we are inserting screws in our studs.

we are inserting our nails to our studs.

Sukkah day 11

1. What did your group accomplish today?  Our group finished our wall frame and we finished marking where our studs go on our frame.

2. What do you have left to complete in order for your wall to be finished?  Our group still has to cut all of our studs and put them in with nails and screws and make a window hole and put on the plywood.

3. Explain how well your group communicated/participated today. Be sure to include one specific example.  I think our group communicated very well today compared to other days.

Sukkah Day 10

1. What did your group accomplish today? We accomplished getting the screws and nails in on the other side of the frame.

2. What do you have left to complete in order for your wall to be finished?  our group has to still cut our studs to fit and put them in our frame then put the top plate on top of our frame.

3. What help do you need from Adon Kaufman or your classmates? Be specific.  Our group needs help with putting in our studs correctly and to put on our top plate on and cutting our studs at the right angle.

Sukkah Day 9

1. Describe what skill (s) you have learned so far. Who taught you those skills? How did they teach you those skills? How have you mastered those skills? I learned how to start building a wall. My groupmates taught me how to start building a wall. They taught me how to build by telling me what to do step by step and if I needed help they would answer any questions I had.

2. Explain if you believe your group is ahead or behind other groups. Explain why you believe you are at that point.        We are definitely behind other groups because we are not the at communication and teamwork but at some points during building time we work very well together but it just really depends on how our mood is going to be for that day.

3. How effectively did your group communicate and collaborate with each other? Provide one SPECIFIC example to support your point. Our group doesn’t work the best together but sometio=mes we have really good moments where we fly through working but most days we don’t work very well together.

4. Today is a complete reset from last week. What is one goal YOU have for yourself? Explain why you picked that goal. I have a goal to try to work well with my group and to not fight as much as we did last week or better yet not to fight at all I picked this goal because I feel like the fighting is what slows us down.

5. What is one goal you have for YOUR team? Explain why you picked that goal. The goal I have for our group is to get along and work fast and to work very well together.

Sukkah Day 8 – Problem Solving

1. What are the five steps to solving a problem (please list the steps)?
1) Define the problem 2) Stay calm and remind yourself that you can work it out. Use calming strategies if you need them.                           3) Think of at least three ways to solve the problem. 4) Discuss the solutions with a friend and agree on one. 5) If the solution works, you are done. If not, try another Idea.

2. Your group identified a problem you were experiencing. What was the problem? What were your solutions?  My group had two problems 1) Not everyone has something to do and 2) We don’t all get along. Our solutions to the first problem ask if someone needs help, ask a group member for advice on what to do, and look around and see what needs to be done. Our solutions for number two is Take breaks, don’t raise your voice and compromise.

3. Describe how it felt working with your group after you identified your problem and came up with solutions.

I felt almost the same but it did end up being a little better once we finished.

Sukkah Wall Construction (Day 6)

1. You spent time reflecting on past blog posts (looking at your strengths and weaknesses).
Describe the value, using a specific example from your blog post, of looking back and reflecting on our work. When I was reflecting on my past blog posts it had value because I got to look back on my weaknesses and see where I am with those same weaknesses with my current blogs.

2. We started to build our walls. What would you have done differently during the process and WHY? Explain what you did and how your fix would have made it better. I wouldn’t have done anything else different because it all was going pretty well but the only thing I would change is that not everyone is involved 24/7 in my group.

Today I was building in the innovation hub with my group and we were working on our wall.

In this picture, I was holding down a part of our groups’ wall so my groupmate could hammer in the carriage bolt.

Egg Drop Challenge

Describe your prototype design. My partner and I’s design is a cut tissue box filled with orange earplugs and tiny blown up balloons and on the outside, there are some bigger blown up balloons covered in a lot of duck tape.          How does your prototype protect the egg? Our prototype protects the egg because when you drop the structure the earplugs and mini balloons keep the egg from breaking on the inside and the big balloons on the outside are meant to cushion the whole structure

Day 5 Sukkah Organization

1. Describe the restorative circle process (when we wrote on our note cards and shared). Include: how you felt writing your notecard, how you felt sharing your notecard, how you felt if/when someone shared a notecard with you. It felt very weird to be writing down my apology for someone down on a piece of paper and then reading it to that person. It felt even weirder to have someone else read their apology to you.

2. Describe how much easier/harder it was to bring the wood in when we were all working together. Include: how did it feel to work together, how were you communicating, how quickly things got done when we worked together It was so hard to bring in the wood from the Ideation room to the innovation room. I felt good how well we were communicating with each other. Things could have gone smoother and quicker but I think it all went fine.

7th Pager Summer Reading Assessment

1. One choice I made on my project was to make an about the author. I made this choice because it shows I understood/learned about the author and about where she came from.

Another choice I made on my project was to put “what makes mutts different than other dogs?”. I made this choice because it shows I understand the difference between the two different types of dogs.

Another choice I made on my project was to have the opening words as a picture. I made this choice because it shows I understood what the opening scene of the book.

2. I used color to add interest so people will notice my one pager because if you spend time on something you want to people to see it.      3. I choose the quote “Mutt” because at the beginning of the book Mr. Rueben was the most important person to him and that is what Mr. Rueben called Mitzvah before the Jewish family adopted him.

4. I did my best on I can manage my time. I found I can make inferences and draw conclusions the hardest.

Sukkah Purchasing Day

1. Describe a situation when you collaborated well with your group yesterday. (make sure to set the scene: what were you doing, what happened, how did you feel).  I collaborated well with my group when we were at restore we made good decisions while we were there.

2. Provide a specific example of a time when you did not collaborate well with your group yesterday (make sure to set the scene: what were you doing, what happened, how did you feel). We didn’t collaborate as well at Lowes because we were always yelling at each other because we were all so stressed.

3. For the specific example of your struggles, how would you change your behavior/actions next time so as to do better? Be specific about what you would do. My one real struggle was just at Lowes when we were getting the wood.

4. Explain how well you planned (what you need to buy and how much) and executed that plan (actually did what you said you were going to do). We planned pretty well but not as well as we could have.
