Food for Thought: Temperature and Odor

Do you think the temperature of the room affects the time it takes an odor to get to your nose? Explain your answer. Provide two pieces of scientific reasoning to explain why. I do think it changes the time because if you are in a cold space the atoms are a weaker sent. If you think of it also if you are in a hot space it might have stronger scents.

Slavery Primary Sources

How did the experiences of slaves first hand compared to what we have read about in the past?

It compared by the emotion that was put into the story and like the details of what was happening was so much more in detail then it would be in second-hand writing and how the masters treated them was emotional.

Were our secondary sources accurate to the slave experience? Explain.

Our secondary sources were not accurate because the secondary source was not there and didn’t go through the pain and suffering of being a slave so they can’t tell the story like the slaves can.

What was one new thing you learned from reading these stories?

One new thing I learned was how horribly the slaves were treated other than how the secondary sources were saying.

Did reading these stories from slaves change your perspective? How so?

Yes, because now I know how bad the slaves actually had it.

How do you think that the stories of slaves relate to our essential question of “Why do people move?”?

I think it relates because now we know why slaves moved.

Why did slaves move? Be specific in your answer.

They moved because they were forced to by white people to be slaves in the Americas.
