Knowing there are families at MJDS that have been involved for 20, or 30+ years, I know we are not truly a “veteran” family. We’ve been involved since our older daughter – now in 4th grade – entered in Junior K, and six years does seem like a long time to be connected to MJDS.

With that said, it has been truly energizing to see SO MANY new families at MJDS this year. So many new families in the new 3K class, and large classes in Junior and Senior K. A year or two ago, I would walk through the school during drop off and really feel like I knew most of the families. And now there are SO MANY new faces – and I love it!

I love not knowing everyone I see. I love meeting new people. And I love the energy – the RUACH – I see every day at school.

And now our mission – to share this message. To share this feeling of love, of togetherness, of community we feel every day inside the MJDS walls. We need to expand these walls. We are all ambassadors for our school. So, however you are comfortable, share the message. Shout from the mountaintops, or simply make a brief aside in a conversation. #ILoveMJDS, and let’s be inviting and welcoming.

  1. Nicely said, Thunder. I look forward to getting to know all these new families and new faces. I know the kids are already doing so!

  2. Way to go Mitch! It is your passion, energy and love for MJDS that makes a difference in spreading the word about this amazing school. Could there be a better place anywhere to entrust our children and grandchildren? I hope every MJDS parent joins you as you keep shouting about MJDS from the rooftops. All the new families mean the message is working!!

    1. Thanks Geveret Nana! This is THE best place for our kids (and your grandchildren). There is so much love and warmth – it really is a special place.

  3. I feel the same way this year as a teacher, and now a parent at the school. There are SO many new, amazing families! It will be fun watching relationships grow over the years. I am so thankful S gets to be part of such a beautiful community.

    1. Gev. Kimmel – you are in such a unique position – it must be so rewarding to see things from so many angles! And that all these young faces get to grow up together – it’s fantastic to watch!

  4. As one of those new to the MJDS community, I want to say thank you so much for how incredibly welcoming everyone has been. We couldn’t be more thrilled about the terrific experience Avi is having at school. You certainly count the Shtulberg family as ambassadors.

    1. Semyon —

Welcome welcome welcome! So glad Avi is having a rewarding experience, and thank you for being an ambassador! It takes a village!

  5. Well said, Mitch! Speaking as one of the new families, we feel very welcomed to the MJDS community already in the short time Hannah has been in the 3K class. With how positive our experiences have been, we couldn’t picture our family at another school. Tracy and I certainly want to do our part to keep that momentum going, and echo the message!

    1. Thanks Tyler! So glad you are feeling the love! And the great thing is, I believe, we have enough love to spread around! So glad you are at MJDS, and that we’ve connected! I am looking forward to connecting with everyone!
