Perch vs Sea Lamprey dissection !!!

  • Compare the perch to the sea lamprey based on your observations My perch was a female and it was very easy when I got it open to see the eggs but on my perch I got a male but on a friends fish, it was harder to see the eggs.
  • Talk about your experience with dissecting… what did you like? What didn’t you like? I liked dissecting the perch because the perch didn’t smell as bad as the lamprey. I didn’t like the sea lamprey because it was gross and it feeds on fish blood.
  • What did you learn about the perch? That the perch had bigger insides than the lamprey.
  • What did you learn about sea lamprey? I learned that the sea lamprey had no heart weird right?
  • What observations did you make? I made an observation about the sea lamprey that the top is a different color than the bottom of the sea lamprey.

Science This Week

What is saving Fred you ask? Saving Fred is where you get a gummy worm/ Fred gummy lifesaver cup/ boat

What is the objective? The objective was to get Fred in the lifesaver in the boat/ cup and you cant touch Fred with your hands.

What are the materials?  gummy worm paper clips and lifesaver and boat

What challenge excited you the most? Why? The challenge that excited me the most was saving Fred. Because it had enough parts for everyone to have a role. Also, it gave people a chance to share their ideas.

What was difficult about the challenges? I think what was difficult is people getting their jobs, the thing is there were enough jobs just my group could choose jobs without fighting. Some of the jobs were the following, Grabbing/ holding Fred, Fliping the cup, grabbing lifesaver.

What was comfortable about the challenges? Something comfortable was sharing ideas/combining ideas. My group’s plan was to use one person’s idea for one thing and another for a different thing, this way we all got to share our ideas.

6th One Pager Reflection

  1. Explain the five choices you made on your one-pager and how they show your comprehension of the book or what you learned from the book. One choice I made on my project was a border that includes key charters. I made this choice because it shows I understood/learned who the key charters are.
  2. Another one is symbolism and quotes. I put this because I want them to know about my book.
  3. Another one is I put key charters from the text. I did this because I want them to know who is in my book.
  4. Another one is images and themes I put this so they can see about the book.
  5. Another one was labeled. I put labels so they know what somethings are.

1. Explain two pieces of textual evidence from your map, and why you choose that text for your one-pager. Some quotes I put where “No one has knocked one this door” and “you better eat your gum” I put this saying because the people at the lumber mill eat gum for lunch.
